Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Laser+Aid a worthwhile investment?
Boy, do we think so!  We've seen it work wonders for us and countless animals.  Given that veterinarians and doctors charge $75 or more per laser treatment (plus office visit charges, sometimes), you can pay for a
Laser+Aid in just a few treatments...and have the unit ready for use any time you want it, without having to make an appointment or drive to an office.

• Is there a user's manual I can take a look at?
Yes.  Click this link to see a PDF of an 8-page user's manual that outlines the various modes of operation and how to best utilize the Laser+Aid.

• What precautions apply to the use of the Laser+Aid?
The modalities used in the
Laser+Aid are heavily researched over the last few decades, having been the subject of thousands of research studies.  There have been no reported adverse events associated with the use of the Laser+Aid device.

Still, common sense must prevail.  Always wear appropriate protective eyewear to shield your eyes from laser light.  Never point the Laser+Aid at a pregnant womb or cancer.  Do not point the Laser+Aid at anything that shouldn't be encouraged to grow, such as warts, moles, etc.

Always follow instructions and, if in doubt, consult your healthcare provider.

• How do you ship the Laser+Aid?
We ship the
Laser+Aid via FedEx, usually within 24 hours of receipt of your order (weekends, holidays and stock-outs excepted).  Units are shipped from our global company's world headquarters in Indianapolis, IN.  Why buy from some unknown overseas seller, wait for weeks and subject the fragile Laser+Aid to more potential for shipping damage while it comes across the ocean?  Buy from a US company that keeps the money here in our country and ships from the central United States via proven FedEx...at no additional charge.

• Do I have to sign for the shipment when it arrives?
Yes.  Due to the small, easily stolen or misplaced nature of the package, plus its value, we do require a delivery signature.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we're sure you understand the rationale for this policy.

• Do you sell the Laser+Aid outside the continental USA?
Unfortunately, not at this time.

• Do you offer expedited shipping?
No.  FedEx ground is our only shipping method.

• Do you accept returns?
No.  Due to the health-related and personal nature of the
Laser+Aid, returns are not possible.

• What is the Laser+Aid warranty?
There is a manufacturer's warranty of twenty-four months from the date on your PayPal receipt.  The customer is responsible for shipping costs.

• Where is the Laser+Aid manufactured?
Israel, by a company renowned for its leading-edge cold laser devices that are very expensive and for use by licensed professionals only.  The Laser+Aid shares technology with the professional-level device, which uses the same four treatment modalities.

• How long does the Laser+Aid's charge last?
A l-o-n-g time!  You can do many, many treatments on a single charge.  The manufacturer states that you can get up to 18 hours of treatment time on a single charge.

• Is it okay to do more than five minutes at a time on a single location?
The manufacturer says not to, at least until you acclimate to the Laser+Aid treatments.  We sometimes do ten minute treatments on ourselves, but we're well versed in using the Laser+Aid.

• How do I learn more about using the Laser+Aid on my animal?
We always recommend that you have initial treatments done by your veterinarian, who likely uses the more-powerful, licensed-professionals-only model that's similar to the Laser+Aid.  This way, you'll be able to assess how your animal tolerates the healing modalities included in these types of devices, and to gauge how your animal's healing responses are mobilized by the treatments.  Your veterinarian can tutor you on the proper places & ways to treat your animal.  There are also a number of informational sites on the internet where you can learn about cold laser use on animals.  Veterinarians are trained in knowing not only how to use the units properly, but also what ailments will and will not benefit from the multi-modality treatment that units like the Laser+Aid provide.

You can read a short article about veterinary use of cold laser therapy on the Dr. Mercola website.  The article is by the esteemed Dr. Karen Becker, a pioneer of integrative and conventional therapies for pets who has a renowned practice near Chicago.

To read an article about veterinary laser therapy, visit the site of Veterinary Practice News.  Note that the article includes conflicting vets' opinions about the efficacy of pulsed vs. continuous laser therapy.  We've had animals who were treated with both types and have seen similar results.

While we are not claiming that the Laser+Aid is exactly the same as the professional units used by vets and doctors, we can absolutely tell you that we've seen the Laser+Aid work wonders on needy animals, some of whom couldn't climb stairs before, but now bound up the stairs with ease.

• What's the difference between the Laser+Aid and the units used by vets and doctors?
The units sold for use by licensed professionals only utilize a different class of more-powerful laser that, in the wrong hands, can be quite dangerous.  The
Laser+Aid uses a lower-power laser that's safe for use by laypeople, but also incorporates the same other three modalities the most popular professionals-only units use:  pulsed infrared radiation, pulsed visible red light and static magnetism.

• What will I feel during a treatment session?
Some people might feel a slight warming effect, but most feel no sensation. Even though you might not feel anything during the treatment session, the laser light, LED light, magnetism and infrared light are, indeed, working on your tissues. It is not uncommon for patients to feel some immediate relief of symptoms after a treatment.

• How many treatments will I (or my animal) need?
This, of course, depends on the severity of your symptoms, the technique used for treatment, the device settings that are used and a number of other factors. The average is between 10 and 14 treatments, but many patients experience some relief of symptoms after 2 or 3 sessions. It is important to remember that everyone's body and symptoms/injuries are different. Keep treating until you feel relief.

Can I return the unit if it seems to not help me (or my animal) heal?
Any individual's or animal's healing potential is obviously based on myriad factors and beyond our control.  This, and due to the personal and medical nature of the device, dictate that all sales are final.

• Could my pain increase?
For a small number of people, due to increased blood flow, their pain may increase after a few treatments. If this occurs, stop and take a 3-day break, then return to your treatment schedule again.

• Can the laser burn me?
No. The device features a Class 1M laser, the safest of all types of lasers. High-power lasers are used in surgical procedures and can cut, coagulate and evaporate tissue, but low-level lasers are used for stimulation of cellular function. Their biological effect is not thermal, as is the case with surgical lasers. A therapeutic laser is commonly defined as a laser using energy densities below the threshold where irreversible changes in cells occur. Low-level lasers have a positive, not destructive, effect on body tissues. In over 30 years of research and clinical practice, there have not been any adverse reactions published as a result of LLLT.

• Can I look at the laser?
No, do not look directly at the laser, as this could result in permanent eye damage. Always wear appropriate protective safety goggles.

Can I touch the unit to my skin during treatments?
Some people advocate holding the unit away from your skin, while others say it's either okay, or even advantageous, to let the unit touch your skin, as this may allow the therapy to penetrate deeper into tissues.  We use the
Laser+Aid both ways.  Given that cold laser doesn't damage tissue, we see no problem with letting the unit touch one's skin.

If I touch it to my skin, do I need gel?
No.  No gel is necessary.  The rounded shape of the emitter head glides smoothly over one's skin.

Is the rechargeable battery user-replaceable?
Good question, and one we have no answer for at this point because we've not seen a battery lose its ability to charge.  We are inquiring of the manufacturer and will post their answer here when we receive it.

If I need extra goggles, can I get them?
We hope to soon have them available.  'Til then, we want you to be aware that the
Laser+Aid laser's wavelength is a bit uncommon.  This means that the cheapie (supposedly-protective) goggles you might find online will likely not offer the eye protection you need when using the Laser+Aid.  Goggles are "tuned" to a wavelength, or range of wavelengths, and the goggles you use MUST match the wavelength of the laser you're using.  Truly protective goggles can cost $160 or more, so the ones you find on auction sites for $3 could be suspect.

How do I clean the Laser+Aid?
The preferred method is with a soft, dry cloth.  But if you feel that there are dirt or germs that you need to remove from the
Laser+Aid, you may gently and carefully wipe the Laser+Aid with an alcohol pad, such as those shown here.  These are available at all drugstores.  We do not recommend wiping the clear plastic cover over the emitter, but if you must, be gentle, make sure the alcohol wipe is no wetter than it needs to be and be sure to buff any residue off with a soft, dry cloth (such as a clean washcloth or hand towel).  Do not get the Laser+Aid wet or submerge it, as these will damage the unit in a way that is not covered by warranty.

• Is there anything else you recommend that might also help me heal quicker?
Yes.  See our Links page for a few recommendations.

• How will the charge appear on my credit card statement?
We run Laser+Aid sales through Four On The Floor Pet Products, Inc., along with DooDoo Voodoo.  As such, when you make a purchase via PayPal, your credit card statement will reflect either Four On The Floor or DooDoo Voodoo, which is the official DBA on our credit card/PayPal processing service.

What credit cards do you accept?
We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express via PayPal.  We are PayPal verified.  PayPal is owned by eBay and is the world's largest processor, so you know you can trust it.  We never see your credit card information.  Even if you don't have a PayPal account (and don't want to have one), it's easy to pay with your credit card via PayPal.  We have accepted PayPal payments for more than a decade and our customers love the convenience and security.

Who am I buying from? Can you be trusted?
These are legitimate questions.  We have decades of worldwide business experience, lecture often at the college level (including to business classes, on the topic of doing business by the Golden Rule) and are the founders of multiple federally licensed charities and a nonprofit spay/neuter clinic.  We're solid, legitimate folks who have a long history of helping people and animals.  Learn more on the About Us page.

I notice there's a different name on the literature, box and device.  What's up?
We are researching this, but at this point it appears that we are not allowed to sell the device under its "given name" due to territory restrictions we had no prior knowledge of and which do not bind us (because we are not a party to the contract granting the territory).  The only thing we've changed is the name we use for marketing this excellent device.
